In the free e-learning presentation What are Levels and Lines?, you gained a basic understanding of lines of development and how they unfold through a series of levels or stages. In this presentation, you’ll learn more about the concept of altitude, or the content-neutral model used to understand the development of consciousness as it increases in complexity.  In this exploration, we'll learn how a general, intuitive story of development is codified into a system of metrics and models through the injunctions of developmental psychology. Our focus rests on a single model and metric—Kurt Fischer’s Dynamic Skill Theory and Theo Dawson’s Lectical Assessment System—and shows how together they can operationalize key aspects of altitude. In the end, you will see how your own attempts at developmental assessment—and your understanding of development in general—can become more sophisticated, compassionate, and deeper embodiments of all that is Good, True, and Beautiful.

If you haven't signed up for an Integral Life account, this presentation alone is worth the price of admission. Even better, there is no price of admission! Click here to receive your first month free.
